How do I start a new build in Codemagic?
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Context
If you have a codemagic.yaml file committed to your repository and are looking to trigger a new build manually, you may be unsure where to find the Start new build option in the Codemagic UI.
Answer
There are three places in the Codemagic UI where you can start a new build:
Application list: Click on your application from the sidebar. This will display your application list, where you'll find a Start new build button.
Application settings: Navigate to your application's settings page. You should see a Start new build button in the top right corner of the screen.
Builds page: Click on Builds in the navigation. In your build list, look for a play button above the status field — clicking it will start a new build.
If you are still unable to find the Start new build option after checking all three locations, please reach out to our support team with a screenshot of what you see.
